Welcome To The Family

 
Avenged Sevenfold telah merilis EP (extended play) berjudul WELCOME TO THE FAMILY via iTunes. Ada tiga buah lagu yang dikemas kali ini dan lagu Welcome to the Family adalah satu-satunya tembang yang diambil dari album terakhir mereka, NIGHTMARE, dua yang lain adalah lagu lama dari band yang baru saja ditinggal 'drummer' mereka ini.

Karena hanya berisi tiga lagu saja maka durasi total EP ini memang hanya 14 menit 43 detik saja. Single pertama yang jadi pembuka adalah Welcome to the Family yang sebenarnya adalah lagu kedua dari album NIGHTMARE yang dirilis 27 Juli lalu. Lagu kedua justru malah paling spesial lantaran lagu ini belum pernah dirilis sebelumnya, meski lagu berjudul 4:00 AM ini bukanlah lagu baru. 4:00 AM direkam saat mereka mengerjakan album NIGHTMARE kemarin.

Lagu berikutnya adalah Seize the Day yang sebenarnya adalah bagian dari album CITY OF EVIL yang dilepas tahun 2005 lalu. Bedanya, Seize the Day yang ini adalah versi live mereka saat menggelar konser di Seattle. Karena tembang Seize the Day adalah lagu lama maka posisi drummer saat itu masih The Rev yang meninggal 28 Desember 2009 lalu. Di dua lagu lainnya, posisi drummer sudah diisi oleh Mike Portnoy yang akhirnya malah meninggalkan Dream Theater

Pinkly Smooth


PiNKly SMooTH
Pinkly Smooth merupakan band dengan aliran avant-garde metal band, dan merupakan sideproject dari “Rathead” juga dikenal sebagai drummer Avenged Sevenfold (The Rev), di mana di Pinkly Smooth dia menjadi vokalis utama.

Band ini dibentuk pada musim panas tahun 2001 di Huntington Beach, California, dengan The Rev (Rathead) sebagai vocalis, bersama gitaris Avenged Sevenfold Synyster Gates sebagai gitaris dan mantan anggota Ballistico: Buck Silverspur (El Diablo) pada bass dan D-Rock (Super Loop) pada drum.


 
Band ini merilis hanya satu album, Unfortunate Snort di perusahaan rekaman Bucktan Records, yang diisi dengan beberapa crossover punk, ska dan avant-garde. Mantan bassist Avenged Sevenfold Justin Meacham juga ikut mengisi beberapa lagu Pinkly Smooth pada keyboard dan piano dalam album ini, tetapi setelah itu selesai dia mengambil kepurusan untuk keluar. Sejak menelurkan album ini, mereka tidak pernah lagi membuat album baru. Mereka kembali ke band masing – masing.
